(WASHINGTON, DC) – The Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) today announced that the Office of Contracting and Procurement (OCP) has submitted a package to Council with a notice of intent to award the District’s hospital turnaround contract for United Medical Center to Huron Healthcare. The two-year $12.7 million contract will take effect only upon approval by Council. The project was initiated to address United Medical Center’s operational and financial management issues that were identified by McGladrey LLP in a 2011 assessment of the hospital.
