DHCF Announces Delay in Reimbursement Payments for Fee-for-Service Medicaid Beneficiaries

Friday, October 11, 2013
Delayed reimbursement payments includes requests processed after September 27th
(Washington, DC) –Due to the failure of the United States Congress to pass a budget for fiscal year 2014 and the District’s resulting budget difficulties, at this time, the Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) is currently not in a position to reimburse Fee-for-Service Medicaid beneficiaries for payments they made to their health care providers that should have been covered by Medicaid. This includes any reimbursement payment requests that were processed after September 27, 2013.

Fee-for-Service Medicaid beneficiaries should continue to send their requests for payment to DHCF. DHCF will continue to process reimbursement requests. Payments for reimbursement will be released and sent to beneficiaries as soon as Congress approves the District of Columbia’s FY2014 budget.
