DHCF Announces Final Grant Application Deadline Extension for Providers Seeking Payment of Unpaid Medicaid and Alliance Beneficiary Claims

(Washington, DC) The Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) today announced that it has extended the deadline for providers to respond to the Request for Applications for the Provider Stabilization and Beneficiary Access Grant which provides funds to eligible providers affected by the dissolution of Chartered Health Plan, Inc. (CHP). The grants are for undisputed unpaid claims for services rendered to beneficiaries of the DC Medicaid and DC Health Care Alliance program. The September 30 deadline is firm and will not be extended.

DHCF Receives Federal Approval For $18 Million Technical Adjustment To Its Managed Care Rates

(Washington, DC) Today the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) informed the Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) that it has approved the agency’s technical adjustment to the managed care rates for the years 2010 through 2012. This is the last approval required to move forward with the District’s and Chartered Health Plan’s settlement agreement.

Judge Approves Settlement for Chartered Health’s Unpaid Claims

(Washington, DC) The Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) announced today that the DC Superior Court has approved a $48 million dollar settlement with the now defunct DC Chartered Health Plan (Chartered). The settlement paves the way for providers to receive payments for claims which went unpaid when Chartered suspended payments in April.

DHCF Announces Grant Opportunity for District Hospitals to Facilitate Patient Health Information Exchange

(Washington, DC) The Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) announced the launch of the Hospital Health Information Exchange (HIE) Connection Program. The new program provides sub-grants for eligible hospitals to participate in the District’s HIE program. The Hospital HIE Connection Program will provide hospitals with access to three valuable services which include encounter notification services, a patient query portal and encounter reporting services.

(Washington, DC) The Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) today published the Provider Stabilization and Beneficiary Access Grant which provides funds to eligible providers affected by the dissolution of Chartered Health Plan, Inc. (CHP). The grants are for undisputed unpaid claims for services rendered to beneficiaries of the DC Medicaid and DC Health Care Alliance program between November 1, 2012 and April 30, 2013.

District Implements Enhanced Payments for Primary Care Services

(Washington, DC) The DC Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) today announced that it has received all necessary federal approvals to begin processing enhanced payments for eligible primary care services furnished by qualified providers as required by the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
 
“Primary care providers are the lynchpin to good health for the District’s Medicaid beneficiaries,” stated Linda Elam, the District’s Medicaid Director and Senior Deputy Director for DHCF.
