District Awarded State Innovation Model Design Award Grant

(Washington, DC) – The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that the District of Columbia has been selected for a CMS State Innovation Model (SIM) Design Award of $999,998. Over a twelve month period, beginning this week, the Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) will engage a diverse group of both private and public stakeholders--- including payers, providers and consumers of health care services, to create a State Health Care Innovation Plan for the District of Columbia.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a final rule effective March 17, 2014, that contains a new, outcome-oriented definition of home and community-based services (HCBS) settings. The purpose of the federal regulation, in part, is to ensure that people receive Medicaid HCBS in settings that are integrated in and support full access to the greater community.

DHCF Provider Payments Delayed to Monday, October 6, 2014

Date Released: 

(Washington, DC) Due to the financial system changes related to the transition from District fiscal year 2014 to District fiscal year 2015, processing of payments to DC Medicaid providers has been delayed one business day to Monday, October 6, 2014.
