DHCF and DC HIE Policy Board to Host Health Information Exchange Stakeholder Summit

Summit to share best practices and launch stakeholder engagement to create District’s roadmap for HIE
The Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) in collaboration with the District of Columbia Health Information Exchange (DC HIE) Policy Board, will hold a Health Information Exchange (HIE) Stakeholder Summit Wednesday, September 10 from 8 am to 4 pm at George Washington University’s Marvin Center.
 
The Summit will bring together healthcare leaders representing a variety of organizations including hospitals & health systems, health insurers, ambulatory health centers, government agencies and patients. The Summit will be an opportunity to share ideas about what is working both locally and nationally in HIE, and to launch a stakeholder process that will lead to development of a 3-5 year roadmap for HIE in the District. Summit agenda topics will include:
  • Understanding HIE and Why it Matters
  • HIE in the District
  • HIE Governance and Financing Promising Practices
  • Technology Models for DC HIE

The Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) is an agency of the District of Columbia Government responsible for administration of the Medicaid, Child Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Immigrant Children’s, and the Health Care Alliance programs.  DHCF is also responsible for implementing and/or supporting provisions of health care-related acts of Congress including the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act, as well as the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA).
