There are multiple ways to apply for DC Medicaid, DC Alliance(“Alliance”) and Immigrant Children’s Program (ICP). The District does not require in-person interviews for Medicaid or Alliance/ICP. See options on how to apply for benefits below.

Application Processing Timeframes
After submission of your application, it can take up to 45 days (or 60 days if you are disabled) for you to hear whether you have been approved for enrollment into the Medicaid program. If you are approved, you will receive a Medic card. The Medicaid program requires you to renew your eligibility each year to ensure that you are still eligible to receive Medicaid benefits.
