Transmittal 22-39 - Repeal of Business License Certificate of Occupancy Requirement for Individual/Solo Doula Practitioners

Thursday, December 22, 2022

Effective immediately, the Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) will not require doulas registering in the “individual/solo” category to provide a business license or certificate of occupancy. This change is intended to improve access to doulas by eliminating a registration requirement that does not need to apply to this category of doulas.

All other requirements laid out in Transmittal #22-34 are still applicable to doulas registering with DHCF in the “individual/solo” category. This Transmittal does not affect registration requirements for those applying as doulas in the “Group” category.
