Medicaid Update: Transmittal 17-28 -Mandatory Medicaid Managed Care Network Provider Enrollment in DC Medicaid

Tuesday, November 7, 2017

DHCF Transmittal 17-28 describes the federal requirements for MCO network providers to enroll in the D.C. Medicaid program.  The network provider types that are subject to this requirement are listed in Appendix A.  A list of all currently enrolled providers is listed in Appendix B.  DHCF requests that the MCOs cross-reference their list of applicable network provider types against Appendix B in order to identify the specific network providers that must enroll in D.C. Medicaid.

All applicable provider types must be enrolled in D.C. Medicaid by January 1, 2018.  In order to meet this deadline, network providers should submit their completed D.C. Medicaid enrollment application no later than November 30, 2017.  To facilitate the timely and targeted communication of this requirement by the MCOs to the applicable network providers, DHCF has drafted a sample letter, listed below as Appendix C.
