Information for Doula Providers

The District’s Medicaid program covers doula services to help make pregnancies and births healthier. This page explains the step-by-step process on becoming a Medicaid doula provider. You will also find several resources for enrollment, billing and reimbursement.

HOW TO BECOME A MEDICAID DOULA PROVIDER 

Follow these steps:

  1. Read the Guide
  2. Get Certified
    • You must already have doula certification or become certified by one of the Approved Certification Organizations.
    • If you are interested in having your doula certification program considered for inclusion on the DHCF-approved certification organization list, please email [email protected] 
  3. Enroll as a Medicaid Provider
  • Step 1: Create an account at www.dcpdms.com
  • Step 2: Select the application type: Standard Application
  • Step 3: Select provider type: Doula*
  • Step 4: Identify Pay to Provider – Check “Yes” if you are a doula working independently; Check “No” if you are a doula working as part of a group
