The purpose of this transmittal is to inform the D.C. Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), D.C. Public School System (DCPS), D.C. Public Charter Schools, and D.C. non-public schools, that, effective September 2, 2024, as a condition of receiving D.C. Medicaid reimbursement for school-based health service (SBHS) claims, all such claims must contain the National Provider Identifier (NPI) of the provider that ordered, referred, or prescribed such services, and that such provider must be duly enrolled in the D.C. Medicaid program.
