This transmittal amends guidance provided in Transmittal # 20-45: Professional Services Billing Codes and Reimbursement Rates for COVID-19 Vaccine Administration issued December 18, 2020, to add new codes for the recently approved Janssen vaccine, to update the emergency use authorization (EUA) effective date for the Moderna vaccine, and to provide notice of increased payment rates for vaccine administration, effective March 15, 2021, resulting from increases by CMS to the Medicare rate for vaccine administration to $47.10 for all vaccine doses.
