Today, the Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) announced that the Office of Contracting and Procurement (OCP) submitted to the Council of the District of Columbia a notice of intent to award three contracts for the District’s Medicaid managed care program. The proposed awardees are the three incumbent Medicaid managed care organizations, AmeriHealth Caritas, Trusted Health Plan, and Amerigroup.
“We are pleased with the selection of the three managed care plans for the upcoming five-year contract and excited about the changes DHCF is making to ensure a stabilized managed care environment and promote the delivery of value-based, coordinated care that is managed through our health plans.” said Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services and Department of Health Care Finance Director Wayne Turnage. “These contracts continue the enormous progress DHCF has made in this managed care program, which is now responsible for ensuring access to care for more than 257,000 Medicaid and Alliance beneficiaries in the District.”
The three plans are:
