Sheryl Johnson, Esq. is the General Counsel for the Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF). As General Counsel, Ms. Johnson is responsible for providing legal advice on all matters as requested by the agency. She is also responsible for representing DHCF in administrative proceedings and assisting in other legal proceedings  concerning  Medicaid and other health care benefit programs.

Prior to Ms. Johnson’s appointment as GC, she was an Assistant Attorney General with the Office of the General Counsel, DHCF.  She has previously served as Attorney Advisor within the Office of the General Counsel, for the Department of Health and the Department of Human Services, providing legal advice and assistance for the Medicaid program.

Ms. Johnson is a graduate of the University of Miami ( FL) School of Law. Prior to attending law school, she was employed as a CPA with a major accounting firm and corporation.
