Acting Director of the Health Care Reform and Innovation Administration
Cleveland Woodson serves as Acting Director of the Health Care Reform and Innovation Administration (HCRIA) in the District of Columbia’s Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF). HCRIA projects include health information exchange, health information technology (Medicaid E.H.R. Incentive Payment Program) and health homes.
Cleveland joined DHCF from Specialty Hospitals of Washington where he was Project Manager in Nursing Administration responsible for the start-up of an ambulatory surgery center. Additional prior roles have included Director, Process Improvement & Business Manager of Perioperative Services for The MetroHealth System and Claims Manager for a Medicaid health plan.
Cleveland has more than 17 years of experience in health care with organizations including safety net hospitals, health plans and FQHCs. The common thread to Cleveland’s career path has been working for intensely mission-driven organizations focused on improving the health and well-being of vulnerable populations. Cleveland received a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Kent State University. Cleveland is green belt certified in lean and six sigma.
