Child and Adolescent Supplemental Security Income Program (CASSIP)


Child and Adolescent Supplemental Security Income Program (CASSIP) is a program that provides children and young people (ages 0 up t0 21) who have special health care needs and receive Supplemental Security Insurance (SSI) benefits or are SSI-eligible. The District contracts with a managed care organization (MCO) to provide Medicaid healthcare benefits and additional services to eligible enrollees. Enrollees will have access to preventive health care and specialty care to help with chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and behavioral health needs. In addition, enrollees will have access to emergency care, non-emergency transportation, pharmacy, durable medical equipment, dental care, eye and hearing care, mental health and substance use disorder services, rehabilitation services, maternal health, long term services and supports.
