The purpose of this transmittal is to provide guidance to providers regarding the Department of Health Care Finance’s (DHCF) Medicaid Recovery Audit Contractor  (RAC) program and to clarify DHCF’s coding requirements for claims submitted by physicians and non-physician practitioners (NPPs)  for services provided to fee-for service and managed care Medicaid beneficiaries during a hospital visit.
