The DC Medicaid Advisory Committee (MAC) is a forum for key participants and stakeholders in the Medicaid program, including consumers, advocates, providers and DC officials, to review the program's operations and offer advice for improvements directly to the Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF). Previously referred to as the Medical Care Advisory Committee (MCAC), the name and bylaws were updated in February 2026 to better reflect the committee’s scope and meet the requirements of CMS’ Ensuring Access to Medicaid Services Final Rule (CMS-2442-F).

DHCF convenes a Beneficiary Advisory Council (BAC) alongside the MAC to obtain insights from individuals with lived experience in the Medicaid program and guide broader MAC discussions. The MAC is also supported by several subcommittees that serve as dedicated forums to inform policy development and program design within specific focus areas:
