Washington, DC – The Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) today announced its new Medical Care Advisory Committee (MCAC) membership. The purpose of the MCAC is to advise the Department of Health Care Finance leadership on health and medical care services that may be covered by Medicaid.
The first meeting of the new MCAC membership will take place on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the Department of Employment Services, 4058 Minnesota Ave. NE, Community Room 1, Washington, D.C. 20019.
“We are pleased to announce the new members of DHCF’s Medical Care Advisory Board,” said Claudia Schlosberg, DHCF’s Senior Deputy/Medicaid Director. “Each member brings a wealth of experience and background to our newly formed board. I look forward to a working with the new board as we work together to improve the health outcomes for the District’s most vulnerable residents.”
DHCF published the MCAC revised by-laws and procedures on July 29, 2016 and began seeking applicants for membership on August 2, 2016. The new MCAC members, including ex-officio members, were chosen from a collection of excellent and competitive applications and reflect a diversity of backgrounds, interests, and experiences. A list of the new members is attached.
The DC MCAC is a forum for key participants and stakeholders in the Medicaid program, including consumers, advocates, providers and DC officials to review the program's operations and offer advice for improvements directly to the Department of Health Care Finance.
