Notice of Public Meeting - Update on EPD Waiver and Medicaid Funded Adult Day Health Programs

Tuesday, June 30, 2015
A Community Meeting on the new enrollment process for the EPD Waiver and Medicaid-funded Adult Day Health

When:   Thursday, July 2, 2015
              9:30 am – 11:30 am
Where:  Old Council Chambers, 441 4 Street, NW

The DC Office on Aging and the Department of Health Care Finance will discuss the following:

  • Overview of the new EPD enrollment process;
  • Explanation of the changes we are implementing to shorten enrollment wait times, and increase beneficiary understanding of the enrollment process and timeline;
  • Review of several documents we are including in the initial EPD Waiver enrollment packet; and
  • Update on enrollment for Adult Day Health services.

During the meeting you will have the opportunity to ask questions and make suggestions on how to improve the process.

Attached are drafts of the EPD enrollment process shared with Coalition members at the last meeting on June 10, 2015.

The first attachment, “New EPD Waiver Enrollment Process” (4-pager) is the process flow/instruction form for ADRC, ESA, Delmarva, Qualis and the Case Management Company. It is a product that helps explain the business process flow developed by DHCF and the above organizations.

The second attachment, “EPD Waiver Enrollment Guide” (traffic light graphic, 1-pager) is a checklist for beneficiaries who are working toward enrollment in the EPD Waiver. The purpose of this form is to help illustrate for applicants all of the steps of the process, and where they are in the process.

The third attachment, entitled, “What Happens Next?” (1-pager) is another checklist for beneficiaries who have successfully enrolled in the Waiver. It helps illustrate the rest of the steps necessary to complete before receiving Waiver services, again helping them understand where they are in the process.
