Medicaid Update: Transmittal #13-13 False Claims Compliance and Oversight

This transmittal supersedes all previous transmittals on this subject. The purpose of this transmittal is to notify all District of Columbia Medicaid providers that they must comply with the provisions of the District of Columbia False Claims Act (DC Official Code § 2-381.01 et. seq.) and  Federal False Claims Act (42 U.S.C. § 1396a(a)68). In addition, all providers who receive or make annual payments of at least $5 million per year must provide ongoing education to their staff on the Federal False Claims Act and must certify, in writing, that they comply with the education requirement of the Federal False Claims Act.
